In the past month I came out with 2 shopping lists, one was only two posts ago, but the other was a bit of time away. Both however are necessary to be used in the next few weeks to maximize profits based off of them, so I wanted to repost them for my readers to get if they haven't. If this is all old news to you, I apologize
Wands!
Wands are going to be turned into Main-hands when the Pre-Expansion patch is released. That's right, BEFORE Mists. I expect this patch to fall near the end of this month, so time is a-wasting on these lists! My list consists of wands that could potentially be transmogged once wands are brought to the public eye as main hands. The original post can be found here.

My Mists Stockpile
Hey guys,
A lot of gold bloggers recently have been going over stockpiling for MoP, and while I'm not really full fledged into stockpiling mode right now, I figured I'd go over what I currently am looking for and what I'll be looking for in the future.
Pets
As you can see I have a decent amount of pets. With the new pet battle (Pokémon) system coming out, pets are going to be a commodity in HIGH DEMAND in MoP. People will want rare pets that not many others have. To this tune I have been snatching up Argent Tournament pets that are below half my average server price, as well as Elementium Geodes. The Argent Tournament Pets are pretty few and far between as is, not to mention that near the release of MoP, very few people will be acquiring more of them (if any) because they are exploring new content. The Elementium Geodes are less than a 1% drop right now, and considering that Elementium Ore won't be farmed NEARLY as much, I'm buying these up at around 200-300g and putting them in storage for safe keeping!
Swift Lovebird
I bought these during the Love is in the Air event in WoW hoping to resell a few months down the road. Not sure what will happen with these, but I have them.
Don Gonzales' Shiny Shield
You may remember this shield from my post Auctionating Mogging Shields. This is a very rare drop in Cataclysm. Although it shares it's model with a 15% drop from Naxx 10, I think it will be a good seller in MoP regardless. The reason I am going to hold on to these to sell until MoP is that even though they're rare now, they'll be EVEN RARER once people stop doing Cataclysm content as regularly. When doing my mogging shields search on the AH I will buy this up at 500g or below and I'm looking to sell it in the 5k+ Bracket once Mists comes out. A great inflation buster IMO.
Mogging Wands
As you may or may not know, in MoP caster's main weapons will be wands. Right now I'm buying up a couple of models that I think look really cool.
The first pictured is the Torch of Austen. I like this particular model because it looks like a torch as the name implies. I think that once casters have wands as their main weapon the wand transmog market is going to explode, and this is a great already existing BoE wand to get.
The second one I have pictured is Gwyneth's Runed Dragonwand. Although you can't see it from my screenshot, the head of the dragon has flames coming out of it. This wand SCREAMS MoP transmog.
I'm very interested in putting a list together of some viable transmog BoE wands, as they will be a new hot market in Mists, and who wouldn't like have control of it from the get go?
So I hope I provided at least just a little insight to my stockpiling, hope it helped you get some ideas, I will be posting more in the future on what else I'm stockpiling, and hopefully a wand mogging list!
Cheers,
Phat Lewts

My 5 Essential Addons
If you enjoy my posts follow me on twitter @PhatLewtsGold!!
Alright so this is going to be a quick and easy post, but these are my Absolute Necessities for gold making. I will list my reasons, but there are guides to all these addons that you would need for them, google ahoy!
Alright so this is going to be a quick and easy post, but these are my Absolute Necessities for gold making. I will list my reasons, but there are guides to all these addons that you would need for them, google ahoy!
- TradeSkillMaster (And all it's packages)
- TSM is basically the be all and end all of all gold making addons. I don't mean to be a huge promoter or anything, but it basically revolutionized posting on the AH in a way no other addon can, among its many other useful functionalities.
- Auctionator
- A close second to TSM, Auctionator does some things that TSM can't do as well (yet). The main thing is the ability to quickly buy in bulk, and it also has functionality to do some cool/useful importable searches.
- Auditor
- Although this addon hasn't been updated in over a year, it still tracks gold incomings and outgoings across alts unlike any addon I've ever seen. Hopefully if this addon doesn't make it through MoP, someone else comes up with something just like it (you will have to check "Load out of Date Addons" for this to work).
- Altoholic
- This addon tracks a variety of things through your alts, but the functionality I enjoy most is it tells you in an item's tooltip not only how much you may have on alts, AH, in your bags, but which alt has x, which alt has y, etc. Makes my life way easier.
- iSold
- Again this is an addon you will have to "Load out of Date Addons" for, but it's totally worth it. It's only functionality is to make a cash register-esque "cha-ching" every time you make a sale. It makes selling that much more rewarding.
I was considering adding NPCScan to this list, but I don't think that it's essential for gold making, although it's a valuable tool. Thanks for reading, if you are looking to contact me my email is PhatLewtsGold@gmail.com.

Phat's Weekly Lewt Review: Week Ending 3/12
For more tips follow me on twitter @PhatLewtsGold! My contact email is PhatLewtsGold@Gmail.com.
Mogging Experiment
My experiment this week was to collect data on the toons that bought my mogging gear to see how many levelers buy the gear for the stats rather than the mogging. and I've obtained some interesting data. But first for all the haters;
DISCLAIMER: The data collected was for my own personal use and the conclusions I draw obviously do not apply to EVERY server.
Now that I got that out of the way, data was collected on both my main (small/med) server Horde + Alliance, as well as Lightbringer Alliance. The main thing I was looking for is the answer to this question "Who is buying transmog gear?"
Shockingly about 39% of my sales were to those level 84 and below. Even more surprising (at least to me) was this:

![]() |
| Totals: 13 Sales < 85; 20 Sales to 85s |
Of the levelers buying the gear I was selling for transmog, about half of my sales were to characters under level 85 were actually using it for mogging, not as their gear. The way I defined "using it for transmog" was if someone was buying a piece of gear under their prefered gear range by 20 levels or more, and/or had transmoged it. I was surprised to see that people had actually purchased transmog gear for their levelers...for just transmogging!
More Dataz!!
| Level | Average Gold Spent | Average Level | Max Spent(per item) |
| 85 |
945g
|
85
|
5,000g
|
| <85 |
742g
|
66.15
|
2,500g
|
The ranges on the 85's were from 300-5,000 gold, and the ranges on the levelers were from 50g (a mispost, but I included it anyway) - 2,500 g. Other than one toon that was level 84 and bought two pieces for xmog for 2,500, the leveling average was around 472g. The level range of those under 85 was from 18-84. Every leveler that bought it for mogging was level 70 or higher. I think I would see more lowbies mogging if I keep (and I'm going to) collecting data. I like to mogg my BoAs for shits and giggles in BGs, so I know at least I personally would keep this market healthy!
I was surprised so many of my sales were to leveling characters, and that so many of those leveling characters were enthusiastic enough to mog their gear before hitting 85.
Everything Else
This week I got back into my crafting groove, as can be seen from my recent posts. I made lots of gold, and I'm back up to a comfortable amount this week, 10k over 1 million. Going to aim for 1.1 million by the end of next week, but we'll see how that goes. Been doing the shuffle, got 400 stacks of ore waiting for me, but they will have to wait, my WoWing and this blog will be on hiatus until Wednesday. Other than that I've been posting just about every thought that comes to my mind on my blog this week, so not much else to say.
Upcoming Week
I'm going to work on finding or creating a great TSM and Auctionator comprehensive weapon mogging list. Lately I've been using 2 different auctionator lists. One was created by Ruls, and the other was created by Alto. Check out the links if you're interested in trying them! I'm looking for maybe a happy medium between the two with some choices that are on neither. I am leaning towards a preference towards TSM on the weapon mogging list, simply because I think there will be more than 50 weapons I'd search for, I'm thinking 75-100. FYI if you want to try Alto's weapon lists, you can compact them all into 1. Keep an eye out for my new lists, I also want to try and compile everything I'm currently using into one post in the near future for the convenience of the newer readers of my blog, so they don't have to hunt it down :-P. Maybe I should just label things better! Also, if you haven't noticed there's a new tab for my weekly reviews if you care to read the past ones!

Expanding on the Cataclysm Twink Market
For more gold making tips, follow me on twitter @PhatLewtsGold!
A while back I posted a few twinking searches for level 77 twinks. The idea here is that at level 77 you can get your hands on some ridiculously OP Cataclysm BoEs and melt faces in BGs till you ding 80 and move up to the 80-84 bracket. Since many mains will have hit the point in the expansion where they "can't get better", we may see an influx of alts coming in that will buy this stuff up like candy.
Today I'm going to expand on my original list, and suggest some pricing points which I believe will work on almost any server. I have done this across 3 servers ranging from Low-High Population, so this has a lot of potential for any server. That being said, this method is really dependent on the prices that this gear is already going for on your server. So here is the Auctionator list that I use for looking for Cata Twink Gear:
***Cata Twink Gear
Armor/77/77/i272/
Weapon/77/77/i272/
Armor/78/78/i300
Weapon/78/78/i300
What do these searches do?

Weapon/78/78/i300
What do these searches do?
- Armor/77/77/i272/ and Weapon/77/77/i272/
- These searches look for items usable by only level 77's of minimum ilevel 272
- This is your bread and butter of this market. These weapons provide the longest term usage over the 77-79 range where cataclysm armor is available to newbies.
- This is the fastest of the turnover rates.
- NEVER buy anything called Dreadmaul _________ of the Tiger. This is plate gear with agility and hit as stats DON'T DO IT!
- Pricing - I price these at 499g99s99c across the board, I only buy at 250g or less.
- Armor/78/78/i300 and Armor/78/78/i300
- These 2 searches will look for a select few items. These items are of rare quality and are usable by level 78s and up. These are the only Cata level 77-79 Rare BoE items.
- Depending on your server there may be an overabundance of these, or none at all.
- The best selling item in this group for me across 3 servers hands down is Alpheus Legguards.
- Pricing - I price these at 999g99s99c across the board. I tend to buy at prices up to 750g when there is only one on the AH (but in general I would suggest no more than 300-400g).
This isn't a get rich quick scheme. If you have gold laying around that you don't have invested in anything, this is a great investment! I have used it to make tens of thousands of gold on servers I rarely play on, and see this as a GREAT way to build your capital through high returns! If you're interested in seeing a breakdown of my personal returns from this method check out my recent post. I find this method to have very little time invested for the great return you get, and it's an amazing asset to add to one's gold arsenal.

Auctionating Mogging Shields
If you enjoy this post follow me on Twitter @PhatLewtsGold for more gold making tips!
Hey guys,
I created another mogging list that has been off the radar for some - Shields. I've had quite a good return selling shields on both My main (low/med pop) server and Lightbringer (high pop). What I was doing is going through all the shields for sale by hand and buying them. This worked great on my low/med pop server, but on higher pop servers there are lots of crafteds, and low level shields that look very bland, and up to 3 pages of 50 shields a pop to look at. So I decided to make an Auctionator list to simplify my searches.
How I made my list
I went to wowhead and filtered shields by the following:
![]() |
| Don Gonzales' Shiny Shield (BoE lvl 80 Cata drop) |
![]() |
| Northern Barrier (Uld 25 BoE) |

Rare Chest Mogging Lists
Follow me on twitter @PhatLewtsGold for more gold making tips!
Let me preface this a bit. When I was on my alt in <Power Word Guild> on Lightbringer [A], I was mousing through the cloth chests when I stumbled upon Black Velvet Robes:
They were for sale for a measly 10 gold. Since they were Rare BoE's, they were on no current mogging lists on Power Word: Gold (which are the ones that I use for greens) or elsewhere. In less than 48 hours I flipped these robes for 2500g. Forget the price right now, but this made me realize that there should be some buyout lists for Rare Chests in Auctionator, maybe even shoulders and pants, but that's for another day. My list is comprised of BoE Rare chests.
How I Made my Lists
Basically I moused through wowhead, and searched through rare chests with 2 filters: BoE and not made by a profession. From that pool I clicked through through and chose the good looking ones, and ones that could possibly compete with my common mogging list items. With out further Ado, here are the lists I came up with! Enjoy!
If you copy from and including *** to the end of the list you can paste it into auctionator's import tab. For more on doing this, check out This video starting at 3:00 (props to Jim from PW:G for this video). If you don't like that it's in 4 seperate lists, have no fear! You can condense all 4 lists into 1 as follows:
*** Rare Gear
Agin's Crushing Carapace
Archon Chestpiece
Avenger's Armor
Aviary Guardsman's Hauberk
Beguiler Robes
Black Velvet Chest
Black Velvet Robes
Bonebrace Hauberk
Breastplate of Blade Turning
Breastplate of Rapid Striking
Bulge-Concealing Breastplate
Chan's Imperial Robes
Chestguard of Illumination
Chestguard of the Dark Stalker
Chestguard of the Talon
Condor-Bone Chestguard
Demon-Cured Tunic
Demon-Forged Chestguard
Demon-Forged Hauberk
Demonweave Raiment
Double Link Tunic
Drakescale Breastplate
Drakescale Hauberk
Dreamwalker Armor
Egg-Warming Blanket
Elemental Raiment
Fumblub's Seat Cushion
Funeral Pyre Vestment
Greenhealer's Garb
Hauberk of Totemic Rage
Hydralick Armor
Martyr's Chain
Mechbuilder's Overalls
Necrology Robes
Noble's Robe
Patina-Coated Breastplate
Pristine Glowbear Pelt
Quillward Harness
Robe of the Crimson Order
Robe of the Magi
Scarlet Chestpiece
Shroud of Spiritual Purity
Skystalker's Tunic
Slatesteel Breastplate
Spirewind Fetter
Starsight Tunic
Val'kyr Vestments
Wolffear Harness
Ymirjar Physician's Robe
Using This List
To use this list just go to the list and hit "search all". If you have the condensed list, it will take a while, but is well worth it! Using this list with mogit will help you determine what price threshold you can buy for, and it will be wonderful. Champagne will rain from the heavens, and you will be hailed a mogging god!!
Hope this helped streamline a bit of your gold making from mogging, good luck!
Cheers,

Using this list with mogit will help you determine what price threshold you can buy for, and it will be wonderful. Champagne will rain from the heavens, and you will be hailed a mogging god!!
Hope this helped streamline a bit of your gold making from mogging, good luck!
Cheers,

Auctionating
As featured in Kuja's Gold Mine
In my recent post, Flipping Twink Gear, I advocated the use of the addon Auctionator to search for level 77 Twink gear to flip on the AH. This is only the tip of the iceberg as far as the usefulness of this addon goes. Used correctly, Auctionator can easily do things that no other addon can!
Searching for Craft Items
As a WoW player you probably have a crafter that has needed to gather materials to craft an item. Auctionator includes a functionality that lets you search for the items needed to craft a certain item, as well as the item itself, to compare the costs of crafting and easily buy. How to do this is listed below.
While having the Auction house window open, find the item you're interested in crafting in your profession window. For me it's Icy Prism. In the craft window click the [AH] button.

This will bring up a window that looks like this, searching for all the individual mats of Icy Prism:

*Note: For those of you who don't know, Icy Prism is not something you can buy on the AH.
Here you have the option to Save this Shopping List, if you don't want to have to click the AH button every time you do this search. I wouldn't buy at these prices, but if you chose to you can click on each item and individually buy as many or as few as you want, as shown below.

Once you're done Buying as many as you need you can hit the Back button to return to the page with all the separate addons. The sky is the limit for this one, there are many creative ways to make shopping lists and Auctionator is a great addon to use for all your bulk purchasing. It's a great supplement to TSM!

Flipping Twink Gear
Hey guys, today I decided to write about one of my favorite methods of making WoW gold. It requires minimal work, no grinding professions, and maybe about 1,000-2,000 gold to start. The method is flipping twink gear, and I'm going to tell you about how I do it and the addons/methods I use.
For those of you who haven't leveled an alt in the 75-79 PvP bracket recently probably don't know that in Cataclysm a whole new level of twink was invented. At level 77 Cataclysm greens become available to players. Cata Greens allow players to have roughly 2-3 times the stats they would otherwise have with items from Wrath. This is the gear that I specifically target. This gear is random world drops so you're not going to go out and farm it, you're going to Auction House farm it, and that's the beauty of this method. Most people get a hold of this gear, and throw it on the auction house for a few gold thinking it's worthless, but a good goblin will see the value in it!
My Method
To do this I personally use Auctionator to search for the gear, and TSM to post it. This makes it effortless, and requires minimal thinking. I set up a shopping list on auctionator, and have two basic searches (for reference the gear we're targeting is item level 272), you can type the following into your Auctionator search bar:
Armor/77/77/i272/i272
Weapon/77/77/i272/i272
***NOTE: There are 272 plate pieces with Agility on them. DO NOT BUY THESE!!***
All this effectively does is search for armor then weapons usable by level 77's, of item level 272. There is other Cata twink gear, but this is by far the most valuable, as it's the first pieces levelers can get their hands on!
How to Buy
I price my Cata Twink gear at 324g 99s 99c. This is a number I picked after selling at 300g for a while and thinking people would buy it for more. I may up it again in the future but for now I'm liking the results. Based on this price I will buy any piece at 200g or below, the exception being plate with Agility on it. In general you should be able to find pieces around 50g if you do this search regularly enough, the lowest I've found is 6 gold! Below is a snapshot of TSM_Accounting's resale feature, just some of the 272 items I've sold in the past.
As you can see this method can prove to be quite profitable, but you need to have a bit of patience, it's not all going to sell overnight. Using this as an ongoing gold making method can make you tons of gold in the long run! Also you'll notice this table has the profit after the 5% auction house cut was taken out too. Good luck hunting for cheap Cata twink gear on the AH!

Auctionator
I use 2 add-ons for posting auctions, Auctionator and Trade Skill Master. If you're all for batch posting and canceling auctions with ease, without bulky setup, Auctionator is for you. If you are willing to take some time to set up Trade Skill Master so you can click one button (Multiple Times) and create all the auctions that you post often, I have a guide for setting it up here. I personally still use Auctionator to sell odd things like world drops and enchanting mats (since I don't want to dump my entire stockpile unless I have a large excess). Auctionator adds 3 tabs to the bottom of your auction house interface, I will go over the uses and functions of each one

General Buying
The main functionality of the Buy Tab is to search for items, and make lists of items you commonly search for. To search for items, type the name in the box and hit enter. The add
Next search for an items (such as Whiptail), and once it's done scanning, hit the "Add Item To List" button, and boom, it's now on your shopping list.
The Buy Tab
The Buy tab is very useful in many ways. If this is your first time using this add-on you will want to click the "Full Scan..." button. This will scan all items on the AH at the current time and record the prices as tool tips when you're not at the AH. For example if you loot Volatile
Air and you think I wonder how much this is going for at the AH, you can mouse over it and it will tell you the last checked price per item. It is best to run a scan every 3-5 days, or whenever you're getting up from your computer while your character is at the AH.

General Buying
The main functionality of the Buy Tab is to search for items, and make lists of items you commonly search for. To search for items, type the name in the box and hit enter. The add
-on will search through all the listings of the item and organize them by price per. Watch out here because people may be selling something you want 1 or 2 of in stacks of 13 for example, just look under the current auctions column for the stack size. If the seller has more than one stack when you hit the buy button it will allow you to keep hitting the buy button until you buy all their stacks at that price or run out of money. This is one of the HUGE advantages over not using an add-on at all, or even using Auctioneer.
Shopping Lists
If you want to make a list of things you commonly buy, suppose Cataclysm herbs for example, hit the "New Shopping List" button and type in a name. For me it will be "Cataclysm Herbs". Now choose your new list from the drop down menu on the left, if it isn't already.

Continue to do this until you have everything you want on a list. This will allow you to search for all items, just hit the "Search for all Items" button, and you will have a list of each item with the lowest price for each item next to it.

To buy a specific item, click on it and you will be brought to the normal interface for that item. From there you can hit the back button and return to your search results.
The Sell Tab
The sell tab in auctionator is really unique in that you drag an item from your bag into the box on screen (it's pretty self explanatory) and the list of all auctions currently for that item come up, and you have the option to undercut the lowest. Batch posts your items with ease.
The More... Tab
The basic functionality of this tab is to scan your auctions, and cancel any auctions where you're undercut. The main drawback from this function is you may be canceling auctions that are only undercut by one other auction, by 1 copper, where you'd probably sell your goods in the long run anyway.
In all, Auctionator is a great posting add-on, but I'd like to note that while writing this piece I did see some posts on curse about people having issues with it, but I personally have not.
