After the Developer AMA on reddit, I'd just like to highlight and briefly comment on some of the things they said that relate to the AH and gold making. (Dev posts in blue, my responses black).
Q: Cross Realm Auction Houses?
A: "With regard to the auction house, I can imagine a future where we might decide to make auction houses cross-server. It's not something to jump into lightly, but there may be ways to design a cross-realm auction house that ensures a viable economy without getting "too big"."
To me this just says "No this just isn't going to happen". It's something that if it did happen we'd be given a wide window of notification, but is something they're not worried about at all right now, and haven't put any thought into yet. They seem to like how Cross Realm Zones (CRZs) are working so far(see below), and have no plans to change how the AH works to be cross realm in the near future.
Q: CRZs Killed Hunting Rare Spawns and Gathering. Also my servers economy!:
A1: "We understand some players have gotten used to the idea of farming nodes or rares without any competition, but we designed all of those features with a certain population in mind."
A2: "CRZ wasn't intended to fill up the auction houses of realms with low auction activity. That wasn't the goal of the feature, so blaming it for not achieving that goal isn't terribly fair."
Going through the AMA recap, there are a lot of questions regarding CRZ and the AH. I agree here, it did really kill the ability to hunt rares on smaller servers, and may in fact hurt your gathering chances greatly (especially on lower level nodes), decreasing mats that are on the AH, because they are brought to other servers. Don't think though that they won't adjust the spawn rates of nodes or rares, if they see it as needed.
So basically as a small pop server, there are now an equal amount of people camping a spawn, or competing for nodes as a high pop server. Working as 'Intended'. Not so sure it's equal now, but I don't doubt that they'll make it equal "Soon.™"
Finally on a second article, "World of Warcraft Devs: Q&A for Fansites" which I first read on wowjuju, Blizzard answered a few more questions, only one of which I think has interest to gold making:
Q: What's the reasoning behind removing the Auction House from Pandaria?
A: Firstly, we want to ensure our servers are stable. The Pandaria hub will be a very crowded area. Ultimately, we think the model for TBC and WotLK worked okay, so we don't foresee any major issues with requiring players to return to capital cities to use the AH. This also helps keep the capitals from being ghost towns.
Not being on the Beta, I was actually unaware that they did this. I can understand the reasoning, but I post non Transmog or Glyph auctions from my main, and could definitely see this as an inconvenience. Can easily be resolved by switching my posting toon though, with minimal effort. Not the worst thing in the world, but definitely annoying. Guess they did it because they don't want Lagaran 2.0, and that's completely understandable. That's all from me for now, what are your thoughts on these developments?
Cheers,
Phat Lewts

Blasted Lands NPCScan Add Macro
If you like this post follow me on twitter @PhatLewtsGold!!
I recently decided that it would be a brilliant idea to delete all my addons and start from scratch without making backup copies. I'm a brilliant man, what can I say? Anyway the result was me not having any of my rare spawns from blasted lands that I enjoy hunting so much in my NPCScan search. I was feeling a bit lazy, and wanted to find a macro that I could copy/paste to add all of them at once. After hunting for about 10 minutes I realized that I could have added them all in that time and that I can just make a macro myself, and here it is (separated into 2 macros due to character limits)

Blasted Lands Rare Spawns
/npcscan add 7846 Teremus
/npcscan add 8296 Mojo
/npcscan add 8297 Magron
/npcscan add 8298 Akubar
/npcscan add 8299 Spite
/npcscan add 8300 Rav
/npcscan add 8301 Clack
/npcscan add 8302 Deathe
/npcscan add 8303 Grunt
/npcscan add 8304 Dreadsc
/npcscan add 45257 Mordak
/npcscan add 45258 Cassia
/npcscan add 45260 Black
/npcscan add 45262 Narix
So there you go, just in case anyone wanted it, or is interested in hunting these rare spawns, the macro is waiting for your love. The names after the numbers are irrelevant as they are just the nicknames you see when you type /npcscan. If you want the full names for your reading pleasure, feel free to add them yourself :-)
Also as an added bonus, this is the route I take in Blasted Lands to hunt the spawns. Is it the best way? Maybe/probably not. Is it a decent/good way? Yes.

Converted TSM Lists
If you enjoy my blog, follow me on twitter @PhatLewtsGold for more gold making tips!
Hey guys,
Today I'm brining you some TSM lists from previous posts that I've done in the past. Earlier this week I read Faid's post from Clockwork Riot, Importable TSM Mog Lists v2.0 and decided to let go of my tunnel vision on using Auctionator only for gear searches. I really loved using her lists compared to the Auctionator lists, and I've decided to revamp some of my previous Auctionator lists to be importable to TSM.
If you want to learn how to import these lists, go to the link above to Clockwork Riot!!
Shield Mogging List
My original post/list for Auctionator Mogging Shields can be found at the post Auctionating Mogging Shields.
As per the suggestion from Theruling, I've added the 3 shields he suggested to the original list! The importable TSM list is below.
Cata Twink Gear
In my original post Expanding on the Cataclysm Twink Market, I posted the lists I use to search for level 77+ Cataclysm twink gear. My fastest turnover group, the level 77 ilevel 272 weapons and armor, I've condensed into one importable 77 twink list below. I price all of these at 500g each, so buy accordingly, read the original post for more details.

Expanding on the Cataclysm Twink Market
For more gold making tips, follow me on twitter @PhatLewtsGold!
A while back I posted a few twinking searches for level 77 twinks. The idea here is that at level 77 you can get your hands on some ridiculously OP Cataclysm BoEs and melt faces in BGs till you ding 80 and move up to the 80-84 bracket. Since many mains will have hit the point in the expansion where they "can't get better", we may see an influx of alts coming in that will buy this stuff up like candy.
Today I'm going to expand on my original list, and suggest some pricing points which I believe will work on almost any server. I have done this across 3 servers ranging from Low-High Population, so this has a lot of potential for any server. That being said, this method is really dependent on the prices that this gear is already going for on your server. So here is the Auctionator list that I use for looking for Cata Twink Gear:
***Cata Twink Gear
Armor/77/77/i272/
Weapon/77/77/i272/
Armor/78/78/i300
Weapon/78/78/i300
What do these searches do?

Armor/77/77/i272/
Weapon/77/77/i272/
Armor/78/78/i300
Weapon/78/78/i300
What do these searches do?
- Armor/77/77/i272/ and Weapon/77/77/i272/
- These searches look for items usable by only level 77's of minimum ilevel 272
- This is your bread and butter of this market. These weapons provide the longest term usage over the 77-79 range where cataclysm armor is available to newbies.
- This is the fastest of the turnover rates.
- NEVER buy anything called Dreadmaul _________ of the Tiger. This is plate gear with agility and hit as stats DON'T DO IT!
- Pricing - I price these at 499g99s99c across the board, I only buy at 250g or less.
- Armor/78/78/i300 and Armor/78/78/i300
- These 2 searches will look for a select few items. These items are of rare quality and are usable by level 78s and up. These are the only Cata level 77-79 Rare BoE items.
- Depending on your server there may be an overabundance of these, or none at all.
- The best selling item in this group for me across 3 servers hands down is Alpheus Legguards.
- Pricing - I price these at 999g99s99c across the board. I tend to buy at prices up to 750g when there is only one on the AH (but in general I would suggest no more than 300-400g).
This isn't a get rich quick scheme. If you have gold laying around that you don't have invested in anything, this is a great investment! I have used it to make tens of thousands of gold on servers I rarely play on, and see this as a GREAT way to build your capital through high returns! If you're interested in seeing a breakdown of my personal returns from this method check out my recent post. I find this method to have very little time invested for the great return you get, and it's an amazing asset to add to one's gold arsenal.

Rare Chest Mogging Lists
Follow me on twitter @PhatLewtsGold for more gold making tips!
Let me preface this a bit. When I was on my alt in <Power Word Guild> on Lightbringer [A], I was mousing through the cloth chests when I stumbled upon Black Velvet Robes:
They were for sale for a measly 10 gold. Since they were Rare BoE's, they were on no current mogging lists on Power Word: Gold (which are the ones that I use for greens) or elsewhere. In less than 48 hours I flipped these robes for 2500g. Forget the price right now, but this made me realize that there should be some buyout lists for Rare Chests in Auctionator, maybe even shoulders and pants, but that's for another day. My list is comprised of BoE Rare chests.
How I Made my Lists
Basically I moused through wowhead, and searched through rare chests with 2 filters: BoE and not made by a profession. From that pool I clicked through through and chose the good looking ones, and ones that could possibly compete with my common mogging list items. With out further Ado, here are the lists I came up with! Enjoy!
If you copy from and including *** to the end of the list you can paste it into auctionator's import tab. For more on doing this, check out This video starting at 3:00 (props to Jim from PW:G for this video). If you don't like that it's in 4 seperate lists, have no fear! You can condense all 4 lists into 1 as follows:
*** Rare Gear
Agin's Crushing Carapace
Archon Chestpiece
Avenger's Armor
Aviary Guardsman's Hauberk
Beguiler Robes
Black Velvet Chest
Black Velvet Robes
Bonebrace Hauberk
Breastplate of Blade Turning
Breastplate of Rapid Striking
Bulge-Concealing Breastplate
Chan's Imperial Robes
Chestguard of Illumination
Chestguard of the Dark Stalker
Chestguard of the Talon
Condor-Bone Chestguard
Demon-Cured Tunic
Demon-Forged Chestguard
Demon-Forged Hauberk
Demonweave Raiment
Double Link Tunic
Drakescale Breastplate
Drakescale Hauberk
Dreamwalker Armor
Egg-Warming Blanket
Elemental Raiment
Fumblub's Seat Cushion
Funeral Pyre Vestment
Greenhealer's Garb
Hauberk of Totemic Rage
Hydralick Armor
Martyr's Chain
Mechbuilder's Overalls
Necrology Robes
Noble's Robe
Patina-Coated Breastplate
Pristine Glowbear Pelt
Quillward Harness
Robe of the Crimson Order
Robe of the Magi
Scarlet Chestpiece
Shroud of Spiritual Purity
Skystalker's Tunic
Slatesteel Breastplate
Spirewind Fetter
Starsight Tunic
Val'kyr Vestments
Wolffear Harness
Ymirjar Physician's Robe
Using This List
To use this list just go to the list and hit "search all". If you have the condensed list, it will take a while, but is well worth it! Using this list with mogit will help you determine what price threshold you can buy for, and it will be wonderful. Champagne will rain from the heavens, and you will be hailed a mogging god!!
Hope this helped streamline a bit of your gold making from mogging, good luck!

Phantom Blade
Follow me on twitter @PhatLewtsGold!
You may know that when Cataclysm removed weapon/armorsmithing from the game, it also removed a lot of the patterns that went with each. One of the coolest looking ones was the Phantom Blade, and as some may or may not know, if you don't have the pattern, it was added back to the game in the 4.3 patch.

One of the coolest looking ones was the Phantom Blade, and as some may or may not know, if you don't have the pattern, it was added back to the game in the 4.3 patch.
WARNING: If you want to farm this pattern it's pretty easy to farm but BEWARE the pattern is BoP so you'll have to do it on your Blacksmith.
Alright the link to the pattern is here. You may be looking at the drop rates thinking ".02% drop rate? That's insane!" This is very much not the case. This item was added back to WoW in Patch 4.3, and this .02% drop rate is calcualted on all the drops from those adds (over 115,000) since vanilla WoW, which haven't dropped the pattern until now. For a more accurate drop rate, the WoW site lists the drop rate as "Very Low", which is in the range of 1-3% (as compared to extremely low which is <1%). For reference another item that has a drop rate of "Very Low" is Ashes of Al'ar which Wowhead correctly calculates, and has listed at a 1.7% drop rate. Luckily, unlike Ashes, the Plans for the Phantom Blade are farmable off of multiple creatures that can be reset.

Farming the Phantom
To get this pattern you have to kill either Shrieking or Wailing Banshees in Stratholme's The Gauntlet, which the entrance to is located in Western Plaguelands here (don't do what I did at first and go to the regular entrance)
Once inside, you can follow this path, and you just kill the banshees along the path (dotted line is no banshees, but necessary).
Now there is one caveat to this method. Anyone doing this method is subject to Blizzard's 5 instances per hour lockout. At 85, you could probably do 12 of these per hour, but it WILL lock you out after 5. I did this, and it ended up taking me 12 runs. On average it should take less, but it is possible to take more than 12. Again you may have to take a break, but luckily queuing for random dungeons/raid finder doesn't count towards this total so in your downtime you can do randoms.
Crafting/Selling
Like the Icy Cloak Post I wrote a while ago, this has look alikes that are available from vendors. Your main audience is those who will see this item and say "Hey I want that, and I'd be willing to pay that price for it". You're not going to get someone who looks it up on Wowhead and says "lol look at all these lookalikes! I'm not paying for that one!", unless they're deadset on the color, so price it accordingly! I just really like having these cool looking craftables on my alts, make 3-5 of them, throw them in the bank, and if they sell, great! If not, reduce the price after a few weeks, keep trying. I had a lot of fun farming and crafting this, and I hope you do too! If you do try doing this, leave a comment about your experience getting it, I'd love to hear from you!
Cheers,
