Adding WoD Transmog Items to my Transmog List

I've been getting a lot of comments, PMs, and emails about when/if I'm going to update my transmog list to include Warlords of Draenor items.

I'm not.

The gold to be earned from transmog is based on the inherent lack of the items on the AH and the low ease of farming these items (ie. if someone wants a specific item their odds of getting it are something like 1 in 5,000 mobs or something). There's fewer players in super low level content, and very few of these items are generated, so it's easier to control the price on these. On the other hands TONS of players are currently playing WoD, and getting all sorts of greens that they can sell on the AH. The problem is
  1. They look mediocre at best
  2. They are too readily available to control the price
That's all. Logic wins the day. If you are looking for an import list with WoD items, look elsewhere. I did however recently update my transmog list, and if you'd like to read about that and all the changes I made, you can check out that post here. Now a showcase of beautiful WoD Xmog:

Inscription Deck/Trinket Arbitrage TradeSkillMaster Groups

Something that I've realized recently is that all the individual cards are selling for a lot less than completed decks/trinkets on my server. Not sure if people don't realize you don't need the DMF to hand in completed decks or not even. Previously I had been doing rough calculations, but that seemed tedious and non productive. So of course I decided to use TSM to optimize my process. This may not be the best method for all of you, but it allows me to quickly evaluate the mark up on a specific deck, and I think it's a great demonstration of some of the power/customization options of TSM.

Grouping

First, I seperated the Decks & Trinkets into groups based on their card suffix. Group import:

group:of Iron,112303,112319,group:of the Moon,112304,112320,group:of Visions,112305,112317,group:of War,112306,112318

Operations
Then I assigned a shopping operation to each subgroup, which is just the sum of their DBMinBuyout values. Essentially, how much it would cost to purchase all 8 cards for the deck/trinkets. Below is not imports but the shopping strings.

Make sure to check "Show Auctions Above Max Price" for each group!!!!!!

Installing and Setting up the TSM App

If you want up to date price sources without tedious manual scans of the AH, the TSM App is the go to for complete data. The app pulls averages and global sources every 1-2 hours (whenever Blizzard updates the API) over a 14 day timeframe, and uploads them straight to your Addons in WoW.

Download the App File
Go to www.TradeSkillMaster.com

In the top right of your screen click User Login and either log in or create a new account.

I'm going to let you figure the rest of logging in from there. YOU CAN DO IT!

Once you're logged in, click the Desktop App dropdown, and choose Overview/Download:

I would never suggest you skip to the bottom and click the download link, so carefully read everything on the page, then skip to the bottom when you get bored and click the download link. I'm doing this on Windows, but the setups are similar for Mac.

Next, you're going to open the .zip file you just downloaded. Inside will be the TSM App. Isn't she a beaut!?

To install the App, just drag it where you want it installed. I keep mine on my desktop in a folder called TSM.
Fancy!
Next, go into the folder you just installed TSM into, and open that sucker up! If you are having issues, right click the icon and select "Run as Administrator".

Log in to the app using your login you just created or already had:

My password is SapuIsAwesome94

Hit GO! It's exciting!

Hit OK to accept the TOS without reading it!

You're finally to the app! Now to set it up!

WoD Gold Making

Yes, it's that time again to write generic blog posts about WoD gold making!! I'm not going to get too in depth here, there's been a great amount of info published already. If you're interested in the actual profession changes, check out these articles from Wowhead. If you are interested in a comprehensive guide on how garrisons interact with gold making, check out this post from UtesDad on The Consortium. Familiarizing yourself with Garrisons now will be very worth it in the long run!! The combo of those two should get you plenty up to speed, and are going to go way more in depth than I will in this post. I'm only going to do a brief overview for those who are interested, but first some more resources:

Phat Lewts' Transmog List Update

So as you may or may not know I've been working on updating my Transmog list, and have had a beta list out for testing for a while now. Thanks to feedback from both Nick H as well as Bones in this post, as well as additional data from the TSM API, I was able to further refine this list, and come up with a (for now) finalized list.

The TSM API
Thanks to the hard work of the TradeSkillMaster team, you can now pull data from some price sources into an excel sheet for analysis. If you are interested in getting your own data, check out this post by Sapu on The Consortium for instructions on how to get your own data. I am thinking about writing a post on how to import this, and some tips on how to utilize the data in the future. I know Stede mentioned in that post that he's working on creating a sandbox.

Xmog list Update Feb 11, 2018

Just an FYI, I've updated the Transmog list as of  2/11/2018. The link is in the navigation bar above. As per the usual, I've just...
