Installing and Setting up the TSM App

If you want up to date price sources without tedious manual scans of the AH, the TSM App is the go to for complete data. The app pulls averages and global sources every 1-2 hours (whenever Blizzard updates the API) over a 14 day timeframe, and uploads them straight to your Addons in WoW.

Download the App File
Go to www.TradeSkillMaster.com

In the top right of your screen click User Login and either log in or create a new account.

I'm going to let you figure the rest of logging in from there. YOU CAN DO IT!

Once you're logged in, click the Desktop App dropdown, and choose Overview/Download:

I would never suggest you skip to the bottom and click the download link, so carefully read everything on the page, then skip to the bottom when you get bored and click the download link. I'm doing this on Windows, but the setups are similar for Mac.

Next, you're going to open the .zip file you just downloaded. Inside will be the TSM App. Isn't she a beaut!?

To install the App, just drag it where you want it installed. I keep mine on my desktop in a folder called TSM.
Fancy!
Next, go into the folder you just installed TSM into, and open that sucker up! If you are having issues, right click the icon and select "Run as Administrator".

Log in to the app using your login you just created or already had:

My password is SapuIsAwesome94

Hit GO! It's exciting!

Hit OK to accept the TOS without reading it!

You're finally to the app! Now to set it up!

Setting up the TSM App

First, verify that your WoW directory is correct (it usually is). If you need to change it, hit the Change... button.

Next choose the options you want from the Checkboxes, my defaults are below, this is up to personal preference.

  • Run at Startup: TSM App starts automatically when you start your computer. Great for those of us who are sometimes forgetful!
  • Start Minimized: Have the TSM App start Minimized, so that it's not all up in your business when it starts up.
  • Mimize to System Tray: Minimizes the App to the system tray rather than your task bar. Choosing this will create a TSM App icon in your System Tray.

Next it's time to set up realms! Click the Setup Realms button (should be Set up realms shame on Sapu!).
This will open a webpage:

I suggest first checking off both global sources.

To Add a realm, go to the Add Realm dropdowns, and choose your region/realm, and hit "+ Add Realm".

Once you do so, you must check off the AuctionDB and/or WoWuction sources for EACH REALM.

If you want Wowuction data, you must get your key from the WoWuction site. You can click the word "here" in the 'Key (found here)' on the TSM realm setup page (seen under the WoWuction section above). Again, you need to set up an account, or use a preexisting account. Your key is found under the Data Export for TradeSkillMaster Addon WoWuction Module. I'd suggest using WoWuction data as well.

Once you have all your realms entered and checkboxes checked, close the window! There's no save button, it will work automagically!

Automatically Backup Your TSM Addon Settings!
The last part that I think is essential is backing up your TSM Addon settings! To do this click the "Backup TSM Settings" tab on the App, then choose a directory. I save it in the same folder as the App. Then choose an interval to update under "Backup Every" and check the box "Backup Automatically". My personal setup below, you could also create a folder called Backups in your TSM folder if you like being organized:

That's it ladies and gents you're good to go! May your pricing data flow and your AH endeavors be prosperous with the knowledge you gain from your new found pricing data!

Cheers,
Phat Lewts
