I personally like using just global because it represents where prices have settled on multiple servers, and a reasonable amount you can expect to get, but for many servers (especially RP servers and ones with stronger xmog population), this is a great alternative! Phat Lewtshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13283348281162957528noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6110501988676544027.post-68845798708910251262014-02-18T06:29:20.094-05:002014-02-18T06:29:20.094-05:00So I kind of accidentally deleted all my TSM setti...So I kind of accidentally deleted all my TSM settings yesterday (along with most of my UI... I mostly only meant to reado the UI stuff) so going through TSM tutorials to help me set it back up, hopefully cleaner and more efficient :) I'd been using max (x% DBMarket, y% wowuctoinRegionMarket) for a lot of my sell operations on the theory that my server is kind of randomly expensive for certain items, so that way I'd be able to price things according to either the server economy or the region market value, depending on which is higher. Or am I wrong as to how I was thinking about how that works?

Thanks for the great videos :)

-knittenephttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02299420914237195889noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6110501988676544027.post-85403457363851496912014-02-15T11:47:13.473-05:002014-02-15T11:47:13.473-05:00The reason I prefer global data in this situation ...The reason I prefer global data in this situation is because your server's prices can be very volatile, or only reflect levelers finding these items and selling them as greens. For example, the Bloodscale set, which I sell individually for 100's of gold for even pieces like the belt, can be found in level 61-63 dungeons. A leveler getting this piece of gear won't sell it for more than say 40-50g, and if that's the norm on your server, you would never see it in your shopping list.

Global prices allow you to look at other markets as well, where transmog is priced accordingly to demand (hopefully) and provides a very reasonable assessment of what you can sell it for. If you priced based on DBMarket you'd find very little in terms of transmog to flip, and would be selling at a price most likely lower than what you could get for it.

Of course this all varies by server, if you tried the global prices out and you just can't get them realistically to work on your server, and you like the way DBMarket works, by all means go for it!
