My TSM_Crafting Enchanting Setup

If you like my gold blog follow me on twitter @PhatLewtsGold!!

In my last post, Handera asked how I set up my TSM_Crafting module to make enchanting scrolls, so this is just going to be a short post in response to his question.  He said that he uses it for glyphs, so this post is going to assume a general knowledge of TSM_Crafting, but not the specific enchanting parts.

What I do for this, is I override minimum profit, in both gold and %profit so that I only make crafts worth my time.  This is how you do that:

Setting up TradeSkillMaster_Crafting For Enchanting

Step 1: Type /tsm and click on the Enchanting module

Step 2: Go to Options, and check the box "Override Minimum Profit"

Step 3: I use both Percent and Gold Amount.  My Minimum Profit (in %) is set to 50% and my Minimum Profit (in gold) I set to 150g.  This ensures I'm making a good return on my investment AND each scroll is (theoretically) making at least 150g, at current market prices.

So that's basically how I set up the options before I craft.  Making non-Cataclysm scrolls is acceptable, granted they are profitable enough.

Creating Crafting List
Then you can go into enchanting and open the crafting window.  Click Restock Queue and you should come up with a list like this:

Shopping for Mats
When you open the TSM window at the AH, click on "Crafting Mats", and make sure only enchanting is selected in the top, and for Destroying modes to use you can have Disenchanting selected (disclaimer below).

If you do have Disenchanting selected, it will bring up search results like this, if not it will only bring up the mat you need to craft, which is less time consuming, but you can find some good deals this way.

Explanation of Above: We're searching for Greater Cosmic Essence here.  The top item (when disenchanted) will turn into GCE at a certain rate.  On average disenchanting this item that costs 17g will yield a GCE that cost 15g11s11c.  In this case I would just by the GCE for 19g 26s 90c, as I only need 6 of them (shown on the right under "Need").  Note: Using this method comes up with many items can turn into either Dust or Essence, and it's a random proc, so unless the deals are like 25% off or more of the raw mat, go with the mat itself.

From here you can go back to the profession screen and craft all your scrolls, or use TSM_Destroying to DE all the weapons/armor you bought, then craft.

Note:
The one thing I would highly suggest doing when using this method is if you do the obsidium/elementium shuffle, disenchant the rings/necks before doing these searches.  The shuffle is THE utmost cheapest way to come up with these mats on probably any server.  If you're looking to optimize profit, that's the route to go!

Hope this Helps!

Weekly Review 2/27/2012

If you like my gold blog follow me on twitter @PhatLewtsGold!!

I decided that I am going to start doing "a week in review" posts to give readers insight into what I am personally doing.  I will be discussing no methods here, but if you'd like me to further expand on what I write, feel free to ask in the comments.

Highest Seller
This week I sold an item for 10k gold (9500 after AH tax).  One search that I like to do every so often is one for "Plans", one for "Recipe" and another for "Pattern".  Doing this search 3 weeks ago I found Plans: Felsteel Longblade on the AH for 3200g.  After much deliberation I bought it, and then held onto it for about a week trying to decide if I would flip it or craft the blades for transmog.  I decided to flip it for 10k, which isn't THAT great of a profit margin, I made 6300g from one transaction.  My highest resale profit to date.  Not all resales have to be mogging!

Constant Sellers
Gems of course are always selling, but this week I decided to go into TSM and craft profitable Cataclysm scrolls, and I've had great luck.  The searching for things to disenchant gets me the best prices on enchanting mats, and I've made about 15k profit this week just from this.  Not too bad for the hour or so it took to make the scrolls.  One of the most constantly selling and cheapest enchants to make is Enchant Chest - Mighty Stats.  I always keep a 20 stack of these on my posting toon.  If you do the ore shuffle, you can easily and cheaply make these too, and definitely should!

New Additions to Gold Making
This week watching Jim Younkin's Livestream (Jim can be found at www.powerwordgold.net) I was inspired to go rare spawn hunting in Blasted Lands.  I know this is a method that others have been using for a while, but I kind of questioned the viability of the strategy (ie gold per hour) and was a little skeptical, but decided to give it a try.  Man were my expectations exceeded.  There are 12 rare spawns in blasted lands, and with the quest items they drop, each one has 2 chances at great transmog gear.  So assuming half of them are spawned, in a bout 15 minutes on a 85 character you can get a chance at 12 mogging items.  While out there I got a Swashbucklers Eyepatch, which I think will be a gold mine in and of itself, so I was very happy.

Also new this week, Faid from the blog Nerf Faids came out with a post: Importable TSM Mog Lists v2.0.  As you know if you've read my blog in the past I have a certain affinity to Auctionator for searches, but I tried out Faid's lists this week, and I really like them.  The current project for my blog right now is looking to make my previous gold making Auctionator Lists into TSM lists that ya'll can import.  Expect them out no later than Friday morning this week.

Non-Gold Making
Recently I've decided to start farming Circle of Flame for my mage.  It's pretty easy to get to now that they added the mole machines to the beginning of BRD but I've had bad luck this week.  Over 45 attempts at this 5% drop so far.  Really like the animation on that one, and going to continue farming it in the weeks to come, hopefully just this upcoming one!  Also did LFR and a feral druid won the caster staff which made me really happy >:o.

Hope you enjoyed my week in review, check out my blog regularly this week for my upcoming TSM lists!!

Expanding on the Cataclysm Twink Market

For more gold making tips, follow me on twitter @PhatLewtsGold!

A while back I posted a few twinking searches for level 77 twinks.  The idea here is that at level 77 you can get your hands on some ridiculously OP Cataclysm BoEs and melt faces in BGs till you ding 80 and move up to the 80-84 bracket.  Since many mains will have hit the point in the expansion where they "can't get better", we may see an influx of alts coming in that will buy this stuff up like candy.

Today I'm going to expand on my original list, and suggest some pricing points which I believe will work on almost any server.  I have done this across 3 servers ranging from Low-High Population, so this has a lot of potential for any server.  That being said, this method is really dependent on the prices that this gear is already going for on your server.  So here is the Auctionator list that I use for looking for Cata Twink Gear:

***Cata Twink Gear
Armor/77/77/i272/
Weapon/77/77/i272/
Armor/78/78/i300
Weapon/78/78/i300

What do these searches do?

  • Armor/77/77/i272/ and Weapon/77/77/i272/
    • These searches look for items usable by only level 77's of minimum ilevel 272
    • This is your bread and butter of this market.  These weapons provide the longest term usage over the 77-79 range where cataclysm armor is available to newbies.
    • This is the fastest of the turnover rates.
    • NEVER buy anything called Dreadmaul _________ of the Tiger.  This is plate gear with agility and hit as stats DON'T DO IT!
    • Pricing - I price these at 499g99s99c across the board, I only buy at 250g or less.
  • Armor/78/78/i300 and Armor/78/78/i300
    • These 2 searches will look for a select few items.  These items are of rare quality and are usable by level 78s and up.  These are the only Cata level 77-79 Rare BoE items.
    • Depending on your server there may be an overabundance of these, or none at all.
    • The best selling item in this group for me across 3 servers hands down is Alpheus Legguards.
    • Pricing - I price these at 999g99s99c across the board.  I tend to buy at prices up to 750g when there is only one on the AH (but in general I would suggest no more than 300-400g).

This isn't a get rich quick scheme.  If you have gold laying around that you don't have invested in anything, this is a great investment!  I have used it to make tens of thousands of gold on servers I rarely play on, and see this as a GREAT way to build your capital through high returns!  If you're interested in seeing a breakdown of my personal returns from this method check out my recent post.  I find this method to have very little time invested for the great return you get, and it's an amazing asset to add to one's gold arsenal.

Auctionating Mogging Shields

If you enjoy this post follow me on Twitter @PhatLewtsGold for more gold making tips!

Don Gonzales' Shiny Shield (BoE lvl 80 Cata drop)
Northern Barrier (Uld 25 BoE)

Hey guys,

I created another mogging list that has been off the radar for some - Shields.  I've had quite a good return selling shields on both My main (low/med pop) server and Lightbringer (high pop).  What I was doing is going through all the shields for sale by hand and buying them.  This worked great on my low/med pop server, but on higher pop servers there are lots of crafteds, and low level shields that look very bland, and up to 3 pages of 50 shields a pop to look at.  So I decided to make an Auctionator list to simplify my searches.

Emerald Shield (Random Drop BoE)

How I made my list
I went to wowhead and filtered shields by the following:

  1. BoE
  2. Not crafted by a profession

This left 183 shields, that I arduously went through models of one by one, to pick out a list of 50, and here it is, hope you enjoy it!  Use this list with Auctionator and Mogit for maximal results!  (Check out my last post for the link to Jim's video on importing Auctionator lists).

***Shield Moggs
Blackskull Shield
Northern Barrier
Skullflame Shield
The Green Tower
Aegis of Stormwind
Crystal Pulse Shield
Don Gonzales' Shiny Shield
Garrett Family Crest
Mountainside Buckler
Redbeard Crest
Shield of Thorsen
Shield of the Wayward Footman
Troll Protector
Black Husk Shield
Blackforge Buckler
Bloodforged Shield
Bloodlust Buckler
Bloodspattered Shield
Chief Brigadier Shield
Emerald Shield
Emperor Shield
Fel-Iron Shield
Field Plate Shield
Glorious Shield
Headhunter's Buckler
High Chief's Shield
Hulking Shield
Hyperion Shield
Ironhide Shield
Jazeraint Shield
Kaskala Buckler
Khan's Buckler
Knight's Crest
Lofty Shield
Lord's Crest
Ornate Shield
Outland Shield
Overlord's Shield
Revenant Deflector
Saltstone Shield
Slayer's Shield
Spiked Targe
Spoke Shield
Steadfast Buckler
Symbolic Crest
Tyrant's Shield
Warbringer's Shield
Warstrike Buckler

Hyperion Shield (World Drop)

High Chief's Shield (World Drop)

This list includes what I think are the best 50 BoE shields that aren't crafted.  Import this list to Auctionator, then use the mogit addon to mouse over the ones that come up to see if the price is within your range!  Hope this list becomes a great addition to your mogging arsenal!

Rare Chest Mogging Lists

Follow me on twitter @PhatLewtsGold for more gold making tips!

Let me preface this a bit.  When I was on my alt in <Power Word Guild> on Lightbringer [A], I was mousing through the cloth chests when I stumbled upon Black Velvet Robes:

They were for sale for a measly 10 gold.  Since they were Rare BoE's, they were on no current mogging lists on Power Word: Gold (which are the ones that I use for greens) or elsewhere.  In less than 48 hours I flipped these robes for 2500g.  Forget the price right now, but this made me realize that there should be some buyout lists for Rare Chests in Auctionator, maybe even shoulders and pants, but that's for another day.  My list is comprised of BoE Rare chests.

How I Made my Lists
Basically I moused through wowhead, and searched through rare chests with 2 filters: BoE and not made by a profession.  From that pool I clicked through through and chose the good looking ones, and ones that could possibly compete with my common mogging list items.  With out further Ado, here are the lists I came up with!  Enjoy!

If you copy from and including *** to the end of the list you can paste it into auctionator's import tab.  For more on doing this, check out This video starting at 3:00 (props to Jim from PW:G for this video).  If you don't like that it's in 4 seperate lists, have no fear!  You can condense all 4 lists into 1 as follows:

Using This List
To use this list just go to the list and hit "search all".  If you have the condensed list, it will take a while, but is well worth it!  Using this list with mogit will help you determine what price threshold you can buy for, and it will be wonderful.  Champagne will rain from the heavens, and you will be hailed a mogging god!!

Hope this helped streamline a bit of your gold making from mogging, good luck!

Cheers,

Phat Lewts
